SMART SHOPPER - FAQ's

So How Does it Work?

The NEW Smart Shopper allows you to save 50% or more on products and services you use every day by simply listening to the Smart Shopper program Saturday mornings on The New 1280 WPKZ and calling 978-348-1280 when you'd like to purchase a certificate.

During the broadcast you can enjoy BIG SAVINGS on dining, entertainment, auto services, and many other items.  Simply call in and place your order, then stop by the station Monday through Friday between 9am and 2pm, and pay for your certificates with cash, check or credit card.  If needed, we can also ship your item(s) to you for a $5.00 shipping and handling charge

You can also save during the week by listening to the morning show with Ben Parker and Scott May for the 'Deal of the Day', and get an even greater discount on select items.  When you come to the station, you can also now browse the list of available items and add to your order if you'd like

How can we offer such huge discounts?

The Smart Shopper is a unique barter program.  Area businesses offer products and services in exchange for marketing and on-air mentions. If you are a business owner or manager, or if know a business which could benefit from this remarkable marketing opportunity, please call the radio station during regular business hours at 978-343-3766 and ask for the sales department.

When is The Smart Shopper on the Air?

Saturday Mornings from 10am-12 Noon

You can also tune in Monday-Friday from 6a-9am when the Morning Show will announce the DEAL OF THE DAY.  Call in during the Morning Show and order your discounted bargain.

Smart Shopper Rules

To help you understand the program and to better serve you there are a few guidelines which all shoppers must follow, in order for the show to be a great experience for everyone.

For starters:  It's important that each shopper follow all conditions and restrictions as stated on the front and back of our certificates.

Basic Rules and Regulations:

  1. Bearer will pay all applicable sales tax when redeeming certificate.
  2. Entire certificate must be redeemed in one visit and does not have any cash value, meaning it cannot be redeemed for cash.
  3. In the case of restaurant certificates, bearer agrees to leave a fair tip of a minimum of 15-18% for their server based on the full retail value of the check for the meal.
  4. Certificates are usually fully transferable and in face make perfect gifts for friends, family or holidays.
  5. In the case of a dispute, WPKZ/Central Broadcasting/The Smart Shopper reserves the right to exchange certificates for Smart Shopper credit. Bearer agrees that any and all damages shall be limited to monies exchanged for the certificate(s).
  6. Smart Shopper does not give refunds or exchanges on valid certificates.
  7. Expirations will not be extended on any certificates.
  8. The Smart Shopper reserves the right to suspend or cancel participation privileges of any person found to be in violation of these conditions or other policies or rules put in place by the station.

MAIL ORDER

To qualify for mail order service, you must pay in advance by credit card. A $5.00 handling fee will be added to your total.  Upon receipt of payment, your certificate(s) will be mailed.

The Smart Shopper is not liable for orders or certificates that are delayed, lost or stolen.

TIPPING, TAXES, CHANGE

When using a certificate at a restaurant or business where a gratuity is appropriate, please make sure you leave a tip. You must pay all applicable sales taxes.  No change will be given if you fail to use the entire amount of the certificate-no exceptions. The unused portion of a certificate is not applicable towards the tip.

EXPIRATION DATES

All certificates must be redeemed before the expiration date,if a date is specified. No exchanges will be given on any expired certificates and we are not able to extend any expiration date.

LOST, STOLEN, MUTILATED & EXPIRED CERTIFICATES

Lost, stolen, mutilated, and expired certificates have no value. Once you take possession of a certificate you are responsible for its safety and well being.  Certificates cannot be replaced under any circumstances.

Keep the certificates you purchase in a safe place until you are ready to use them.

RESTRICTIONS

All certificates are subject to any restrictions or conditions listed on them.

These restrictions must be observed.  If you have questions please ask a Smart Shopper Show host or station associate to explain any restrictions.

We encourage you to try different businesses and not to use a certificate every time you visit a given business. Keep in mind that The Smart Shopper  Show exists to introduce you to new businesses and save you money. Whenever possible please spend over and above the value of the gift certificate.  Be a repeat customer.  This will help keep the Smart Shopper a "win, win, win" experience, not just for you, but also for participating businesses..

EXCHANGE POLICY

If a valid certificate does not work, please contact us prior to the expiration date listed on the certificate. At our option we will exchange it for another certificate of equal purchase price. For example, if you purchased a $20 certificate for $8 dollars, you would be credited $8 towards the purchase of another certificate(s).

We would love for you to take a moment to either talk to or write a note o the owner or manager of a participating business, letting them know about your positive experience and how much you appreciate their being part of the Smart Shopper and WPKZ Radio.
